Hospital
I was given the opportunity to visit the old Clínica Puerta de Hierro during the filming of a television commercial. Opened by Franco in 1964, the clinic was hurriedly abandoned in July 2008.
Since then, it has been neglected and is awaiting demolition to make way for the construction of new facilities.
I was moved by the deserted and enigmatic space, the decadence and beauty contained in those empty buildings, the simple lines and the atmosphere created by natural light, and the thousands of stories that took place within those walls.
It´s the expression of how society, forced to renew itself, leaves behind what it no longer considers to be of value.

Realice este proyecto dentro del antiguo Hospital Puerta de Hierro de Madrid, abandonado a toda prisa en 2008 debido a la construcción de las nuevas instalaciones y a la espera de ser demolido.
Había tenido la oportunidad de visitarlo durante un trabajo en el rodaje de una campaña publicitaria.
Me sobrecogió el espacio desértico, enigmático, la decadencia y la belleza que encierran estos edificios vacíos, las sencillas líneas y la atmósfera que crea la luz natural, y las miles de historias que han sucedido entre esas paredes.
Es la expresión de como la sociedad, obligada a renovarse, deja atrás olvidado lo que ya no le supone ningún valor.
